Car problems

THANKS to last week's letter entitled "car woes" I can confirm that parking in Windsor Road is "even more problematic". We also frequently have to park over 100 yards from our home with the ensuing problems for senior citizens of carrying shopping etc.

I contacted the Vale council over a year ago requesting they consider providing residents' parking in Windsor Road. A survey was pioneered and after many months of delay I was informed that through lack of staff they could only undertake "urgent " business and the survey would not be carried out.

It may not be urgent to the council but it is certainly urgent to the residents who fund their selective activities via council tax.

I trust that when they consider a current planning application to build six houses in Dingle Dell (for which they apparently have time) they will bear in mind the problems of having even more traffic entering Windsor Road.

Penarth desperately needs a fundamental review of both traffic flow and parking facilities, so come on Vale council, get your priorities right!
