Mystery tour to say 'grazie'

PENARTH restauranteur Peppino Scarico has come up with a unique way to show his appreciation to his customers.

Peppino, who owns the Mediterraneo restaurant on Penarth seafront, has arranged a special prize draw in which 52 of his customers will win a complimentary champagne breakfast and a mystery coach trip in July.

He said: "It is my way of thanking my customers for their patronage."

Peppino is hoping to arrange a surprise treat for his customers every year if this first one is a success.

He said: "I think that every restaurateur should try to give something back to his customers, and to the community.

"We sponsor the Mediterraneo Cup for the Penarth Sea Anglers, as well as a youth football team, so this mystery trip is just a little extra treat which we hope will show that we do not take our customers for granted."

Mediterraneo's manager Carlo Cafaro added: "We wish we could take all our diners, but can only send 52 this time around. Hopefully, those who aren't lucky this time around will be selected next year."
